HARCATI Motorcycles is a family-owned, faith-driven company specializing in radically customized motorcycles. We take existing models and transform them into bold symbols of power and freedom—each bike is in a class of its own. Designed and built by the owner, Joey Costello, with unmatched creativity and attention to detail, these machines offer an exhilarating riding experience that is unlike any other.
HARCATI Motorcycles was born from the struggles of addiction. These bikes became a tool for my recovery—a path to freedom from battles that took years of wins and losses. Overcoming addiction isn’t easy, but I found hope in Jesus Christ, the one who changed everything. Bike #8, named Dominion, represents the authority He gives us over all forms of darkness. As Luke 10:19 says: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Looking back just a few years, I couldn’t have imagined myself building these custom motorcycles. But I was ready for change and chose the path of healing. Growing up, motorcycles were always a part of my life. But as time passed, life took me in different directions, and I had to step away. Two decades later, after a pivotal moment, that passion was reignited.
When I first saw the Harley-Davidson FXDR, it was love at first sight. I knew I had to make it my own. What you see today is the result of that vision: HARCATI. A design born from resilience, passion, and faith.
Growing up in a small town just outside of Seattle, WA, I found myself falling in love with bicycles and motorcycles.
At the age of 12, I got my first bike, a Yamaha IT 175. The bike was used, had a blown piston, and needed a lot of work and attention. Although I didn’t know anything about fixing motorcycles, I was determined to learn so that I could experience the full potential of my new ride. After researching all that I could, and talking to friends who had useful knowledge on the matter, I started rebuilding the engine.
Once it was in working condition, I had a blast riding it around town. I learned a lot about driving bikes, occasionally falling off once or twice. But I was sold, and began collecting more bikes and fixing them up as well.
After getting married in my early 20s, I never rode motorcycles again until 2020. Until one rainy afternoon after finishing an electrical job in Eugene, Oregon. My family and I were driving along, when I saw a Harley-Davidson dealership off the highway. I had some time to spare, so I decided to walk in and take a look at what they had on the show-floor.
The first bike I saw was a flat black motorcycle sitting amongst the chrome and other colorfully painted bikes. It was a model I had never seen before, and it was not your typical Harley Davidson. I was told that is was a brand new model that Harley just released, and that it was none other than the FXDR.
It truly was love-at-first-sight, and I was so taken by the motorcycle that I had to have it. I took it home, and began applying my previous knowledge of fixing bikes, making customizations to its internals and exterior. From that point on, my motorcycle changed into something so sleek and stunning that people that saw it began calling it “The Tron Bike”. The rest is history.
